No experience is required, just a passion for writing, researching, and learning.

Things like: “How is AI changing the job market?” “How is the Blockchain challenging traditional banking systems?” “What affect will clean energy have on economic efficiency?”

What We’re Looking For
Writers & Researchers
Research a technology or company, write an article explaining the economics of it, cite your sources, revise based on feedback.
Time commitment: 4-8 hours/week for 1-2 articles per month
You’d fit if: You’re curious, can write clearly, and enjoy research
Data Analysts
Find economic data, create charts and visualizations, help writers back up claims with numbers.
Time commitment: 3-6 hours/week
You’d fit if: You like working with spreadsheets, data, and making sense of numbers
Designers
Create article headers, infographics, and social media graphics that help visualize concepts.
Time commitment: 3-5 hours/week
You’d fit if: You know Canva, enjoy graphic design, and want portfolio pieces
Social Media
Post articles on Instagram/YouTube/TikTok, create short-form content, engage with followers.
Time commitment: 3-5 hours/week
You’d fit if: You understand social platforms and can make content engaging
What You Need
Required:
- Genuine interest in tech and/or economics
- Commitment to contribute regularly (even if just monthly)
- Willingness to research thoroughly and fact-check
- Ability to take feedback and improve
- Reliable communication
Not required:
- Previous writing experience
- Economics knowledge
- Tech expertise
- Perfect grades
We care more about curiosity and willingness to learn and contribute than credentials.
The Reality
This takes real work. You’ll spend hours researching, writing, and revising.
You need to be reliable. We depend on each other to produce content consistently. If you commit, we need you to follow through (or reach out early if you can’t).
You’ll get feedback. Your first drafts will need work. We all improve through the editing process!
But it’s worth it. You’ll learn more than you would from most classes, build real skills, and create work that you can be proud of!

- Any relevant skills or experience? (AP Micro/Macroeconomics, computer science knowledge, etc)
3. Show Us Your Thinking
Pick a prompt and write 200-400 words:
Option A: Pick one technology (AI, crypto, EVs, etc.) and explain how it makes money
Option B: What’s one technology you think is overhyped and why?
Option C: How would you explain DeFi(decentralized finance) to someone who knows nothing about crypto?
Option D: What’s one thing about tech or economics that you’re confused about and want to understand better?

FAQ
Do I need to be good at writing? Not yet. You just need to be willing to learn and improve.Everyone gets better with practice and feedback!
What if I don’t know much about economics or tech? No problem! You’ll research and learn. Sometimes, the best writers are people learning the topic themselves.
How much time really? Minimum 3-4 hours/week(or more if you want to be more active) Be honest about how much time you can allocate efficiently.
Will this help with college apps? Yes. Published research writing demonstrates initiative, expertise, and follow-through. Plus you’ll have interesting stuff to discuss in interviews!
Can I quit if it’s too much? Yes. Just let us know in advance.
Do you accept freshmen? Yes! We care about ability and commitment, not grade level.
Can I contribute without joining the team full-time? We prioritize regular team members, but we occasionally accept guest articles, so please mention this in your email.
